Our relatively small team based in Alton in Hampshire covers a range of activities and offers many opportunities whether you are a healthcare professional or have other skills.

Patient Services

Our team of field based nurses provide home nursing support to patients who have been discharged from hospital. Assessing patients' needs, managing their medication and providing essential treatment at home means that patients can be discharged from hospital more rapidly and are able to avoid residential homecare for longer. It also reduces the amount of outpatient appointments that patients may need.

We also have a team of professionally qualified nurses at our Alton offices, providing clinical advice to patients and healthcare professionals over the phone. This team plays a key role in providing a continuity of therapy for patients.


We provide pharmaceutical services for our clients in both the NHS and private sectors. As well as providing dispensing services, our pharmacy team provide drug and technical information to other members of the Alcura team, clients and other healthcare professionals, working with the Patient co-ordinators and support staff to help Alcura provide clients with the best possible service.

Business Development

Our field-based business development team work closely with procurement, pharmacy, clinical and commissioning contacts with the whole scope of the NHS, to build awareness of the range of services offered by Alcura, and to identify new therapy areas in which we can develop new offers.


Key to the provision of Alcura's end-to-end services is our Warehouse from which we despatch essential pharmaceutical products and equipment direct to patients across the UK.

Professional Services

Our small team of professionally qualified pharmacists support independent pharmacies in navigating through the myriad of regulatory requirements. By offering professional expertise, we are able to help our customers explore the commercial opportunities available to develop their business.

I joined the Boots organisation as a pharmacy pre-registration student in 1998. After qualifying as a Pharmacist, I continued my career within Boots until I transferred within the Group to Alliance Healthcare as Commercial Services Manager in 2007 and was appointed Head of Professional Services in 2008.

My current role is to work within the independent pharmacy sector to help navigate our customers through all the regulatory and commercial opportunities. I am also responsible for developing new pharmacy based income streams for the independent sector and this involves working with Manufacturers. I am fortunate to work with key opinion leaders and with the PSNC, DoH, PCTs, LPC and new commissioning bodies to name but a few, and I still maintain a practicing role within Pharmacy.

Working within the Alliance Boots organisation I have had the opportunity to work across the retail and wholesale business. There is a real drive and passion for continuous personal and professional development within the organisation with a view to career development and progression.

No two days are the same, and you are exposed to other specialist areas within the business such as Marketing, Finance, IT and Manufacture relations to name but a few. Within Alliance Healthcare there is a real sense of empowerment, this allows me to make a real difference and contribute towards the development of the Pharmacy profession.
